✅Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, registering, or using the Food Loop mobile application or associated web services ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
🎂Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Food Loop. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 13 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- You are not prohibited from using the Platform under applicable laws.
👤User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access at 2023bit073@must.ac.ug.
- Not create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions.
⚠️ Food Loop is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to protect your account credentials.
🥕Food Listings
Sellers on Food Loop may post surplus or near-expiry food items. By posting a listing you agree that:
- All food listed is safe for human consumption and meets applicable food safety standards.
- Listing descriptions, prices, and photos accurately represent the item.
- You will fulfil orders placed by buyers in a timely manner.
- You will not list any prohibited items including alcohol, tobacco, or controlled substances.
- Food Loop may remove any listing that violates these Terms or applicable law, without notice.
🚫 Listing expired, unsafe, or fraudulently described food is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.
💳Transactions & Payments
Food Loop facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any sale. Payment processing is handled by SeerBit.
- Buyers agree to pay the listed price plus any applicable fees at checkout.
- Sellers receive payment after successful order completion, minus platform fees.
- Refunds and disputes are handled according to our Refund Policy, available in the app.
- Food Loop reserves the right to withhold payment pending investigation of suspected fraud.
🤝User Conduct
You agree not to use the Platform to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to collect data or interact with the Platform.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform.
©️Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software, and features of Food Loop are the exclusive property of Food Loop and its licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute any part of our Platform without written permission.
- Use our trademarks or logos without prior written consent.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code from our applications.
By posting content (listings, photos, reviews) on Food Loop, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and promote that content within the Platform.
🚫Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time from the app settings. Upon termination:
- Your access to the Platform is revoked immediately.
- Outstanding payments will be processed or withheld depending on the reason for termination.
- Data retention will follow our Privacy Policy.
⚠️Limitation of Liability
Food Loop is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid Food Loop in the 30 days prior to the claim.
- We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any listed items — buyers purchase at their own discretion.
🏛️Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
